Speakers Bureau Committee Chair
Ron Gross is a pure mediator who specializes in Construction and Religious/Congregational Mediation. As a builder of custom homes for 25 years, certified as a Master Builder by the NAHB, Ron brings many years of multi-party mediation and negotiation experience to his mediations. He is currently the President of the Southwest Conflict Resolution Network, a Credentialed Mediator by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, a Master Mediator by the American Institute of Mediation, and a member of the Texas Association of Mediators and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators.
Special Events Committee Chair
Martha has been practicing law since 1994 and has been licensed in Texas since 2007. She received her Graduate Certificate in ADR from SMU in 2007. As an attorney, Martha has been a sole practitioner, a state prosecutor and the director of a non-profit law center. Currently in private practice in Dallas and concentrating in family and probate law, she has mediated over 100 family law case. She is currently Chair of SWCRN Board's Special Events Committee and has been a member of the Board in various positions since 2006.
Pat joined the SWCRN Board in 2007 and has served as Treasurer of the organization since 2008. She is a trained and experienced mediator and arbitrator and a qualified National Panel Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau where she has served continually since 2009. Pat has over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector dealing with high conflict, turbulent change and crisis situations and managing large, complex and diverse business operations, across multiple sites, serving clients in various industries including travel, hospitality, finance and technology. Pat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and received her Certification in Advanced Graduate Studies in Dispute Resolution and a Master of Arts Degree in Dispute Resolution from Southern Methodist University. She also completed advanced studies in Executive Leadership and Financial Management at the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
Candy received her Certificates in both Business Mediation and Family Mediation in 2014 and has been practicing in the areas of civil and family meditations since. She serves as volunteer mediator with Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center affording her a wide array of matters and cases. She has a background as a paralegal as well as working in the insurance industry. As a skilled mediator, Candy finds both the flexibility and confidentiality provided by mediation to be essential elements in creating a mutually agreeable solution. She enjoys serving SWCRN on the Membership Committee.
Mr. Fielder is a trained and experienced mediator and arbitrator He also has 35 years of experience providing Practice Management Services to Physicians and Clinical Contract Services to Hospitals. His professional experience makes him uniquely qualified to facilitate efforts to improve clinical operational performance as well as working relationships between nurses and physicians and employment or contractual relationships between hospitals and providers. He also mediates disputes involving insurance coverage or balanced billing as well as patient care complaints.
Technology Committee Chair
Rebecca (MADR, TMCA CAM) is a professional dedicated to helping people find pathways to address immediate conflict situations as well as the underlying patterns which result in recurring conflict, if they so choose. She has ten years experience mediating with a preference for family mediation. She has training and experience in international cross border family conflicts, including cases related to child abduction under the Hague convention. In addition to English, she is fluent in French and Spanish and she is currently completing a Diplôme d'Etat in Family Mediation in France where she lives part of the time. (The French model for Family Mediation is similar to the transformative model of mediation with emphasis on empowerment of participants to make their own choices and decisions). She is also a Conflict Coach, trained in the CINERGY
Communication Committee Chair
Over 35 years software development and management in telecommunications and internet startups. Often acted as liaison and peacemaker between software and other departments. Enrolled in SMU Dispute Resolution program to further peacemaking skills. Graduated with masters degree in 2008. Focused on civil meditations. Currently exploring the legal, social, and medical issues of the elderly and handicapped.
I am a full time Family Mediator since 2008 when I received my Masters in Dispute Resolution from SMU. I offer Divorce Mediation, Divorce Coaching and Marital Coaching. My primary practice is working with clients as a single source solution for their divorce that encompasses a process from divorce filing to the paperwork that goes before the judge.
Membership Committee Chair
Dana Garnett is a mediator, conflict coach and CPA. She helps family and small businesses avoid the pitfalls of unnecessary conflict, so productivity and profits rise, and their business thrives. Her experience includes Coopers & Lybrand audit, plus 22 years’ experience with diverse cultures across six continents, including with The Coca-Cola Company in internal audit, facilities management and change management. First-hand experience to litigation resulting in personal hardship and serious financial loss lead Dana to the practice of mediation and alternative dispute resolution. Dana holds an MA in Dispute Resolution and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Southern Methodist University, and an MS in Accountancy from the University of North Texas. She is a Certified Trainer with the HeartMath® Institute and the Connection Practice®, and her public speaking includes local, state and national business forums
Procurement Committee and SMU Faculty Liaison
Tom has been a practicing attorney in Texas for over 35 years and has been board certified in Family Law for most of that time. He is an experienced mediator and arbitrator in both civil and family cases and currently holds a full time faculty position with Southern Methodist University teaching courses for both the Dispute Resolution and Counseling programs. He is also one of the founders, and serves as director, of the SMU Center for Mediation and Conflict Resolution that provides mediation, arbitration, conflict coaching and facilitation services to the public.
Community Outreach Committee Chair
Joel concluded his classroom education in Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2011 and immediately launched himself into the practice of mediation. He has been recruited by El Centro College, Southern Methodist University and University of North Texas, Dallas to participate in educational presentations including mock trials and mock mediations. He is a volunteer mediator with Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a United States Air Force, Vietnam Veteran. His SWCRN specialty is Community Outreach.
